In Livigno, winter is also breathing in the summer with the  GARA DA LI CONTRADA race in which amateurs compete on a 1-kilometre course completely covered in snow in the streets of the town centre.

On this day, the alpine transhumance is evoked in which animals, after the summer in the alpine pastures, return to the village for the winter period. The festively dressed animals parade along the streets of the town centre with the inahbitants of Livigno dressed 'in the old style' to revive the emotions of rural life in days of the past.

From 27 November to 6 January, the centre of Livigno is transformed into an enchanting Christmas scene, with the traditional little wooden houses lining the village streets, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere. The twinkling lights, enveloping scents and the snow covering the surrounding mountains provide the backdrop for an unforgettable experience... come and experience Christmas in the village!
