Ski mountaineering

The most beautiful itineraries for experiencing the mountains alone

The power of nature

Livigno is a lonely valley, offering 150 square kilometres of unspoilt territory that can only be reached on one's own two feet. Thanks to its 1816m altitude, it offers one of the longest ski seasons of the year, so much so that ski mountaineering is practicable for the most experienced and adventurous as early as the first snowfall in mid-November! Ski mountaineering is a spectacular sport, a unique experience that makes you live and appreciate the mountain in all its nuances.  Piccolo Tibet is the ideal setting both for those who are already passionate about ski mountaineering and for those who are neophytes and want to approach this discipline from scratch: the snow-covered area is large and the routes varied, so everyone can organise an outing that suits their abilities. In Livigno there are numerous 'managed routes', which can be tackled in total autonomy, without the need to use rescue equipment such as an artva, shovel and probe. They are carefully signposted, and are beaten again every time there is a snowfall. In addition, they are constantly monitored by our experts to guarantee you the best experience. However, if you opt for other routes, or if you would like more expert advice, our Alpine Guides will be happy to assist you! In some departure areas of the most classic tours, initial checkpoints are positioned to verify the correct functioning of the A.R.T.V.A.: once you have checked in, you can venture out to discover the wilderness. We are waiting for you in Livigno.

Trails

In Livigno, we have numerous 'managed routes', wich can be reach even without the need of self-rescue equipment such as a backpack with artva, shovel and probe. These trails are groomed with each new snowfall, and constantly monitored by our experts to provide you with the best experience.

Specifically, the trails marked with fluorescent green and fuchsia posts are perfect for snowshoeing, the blue and orange ones are ideal for ski touring, and the green ones for walking and fat biking.
