WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES MILAN - CORTINA 2026
6th – 22nd February 2026
A dream come true: Livigno will award 28 medals during the Milano-Cortina Olympics.
Livigno has always been considered the home of athletes, thanks to its altitude and because it has built state-of-the- art facilities that allow athletes to train in optimal conditions over the years.
In 2026, 28 medals will be awarded during the Milano-Cortina Olympics in Livigno. The Freestyle and Snowboard competition venue is one of the world's reference places for winter sports. It is a dream come true for Little Tibet and a source of pride for the entire Valtellina, a leading venue for the Olympic event.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics will also be a unique opportunity for sports fans and amateurs to watch the training sessions of professional athletes preparing for Olympic competitions.
SITE AND DISCIPLINES
The Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics event will involve both Livigno ski sides. The Livigno Snowpark, set on the Mottolino Ski Area, will host the half pipe, slopestyle, big air, snowboard cross, ski cross, and parallel giant slalom competitions. On the other hand, the Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park —set at Carosello 3000 — will be where the world's best athletes will compete in the moguls and aerials disciplines. With complete respect for the land and the environment, Livigno has chosen not to build an Olympic Village.
Athletes and technicians will be accommodated in several existing hotel facilities, which will be rearranged and secured to meet the Olympic standards. In keeping with the eco-sustainable approach, any additional facility will be temporary and, therefore, removed at the end of the Games.

In parallel giant slalom, the two snowboarders race simultaneously on two evenly spaced. Competitors will compete in heats formats.
VISION AND GOALS
Each Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics site was identified and chosen based on several principles highlighting the sustainability values and the maximal use of existing iconic sites. Furthermore, attention was also paid to the experience of athletes and spectators and to the legacy that the Games can bring to the territories - following the development plans of cities and regions. Livigno, also known as Little Tibet, was chosen as a venue for its high-quality sports environment and its growing ecological footprint.
The town is committed to a sustainable path, and many of the temporary structures built for the Games will be removed at the end of the event, thus keeping the area in harmony with its natural setting as possible.

THE INFRASTRUCTURES
Livigno has consistently been recognized as a highly advanced resort for services designed for sportsmen and women. Aquagranda, Little Tibet's fitness and wellness center, was named an Olympic Preparation Centre, officially qualified by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), and holds all the quality standards required by the sports federations. The centre has become a high-level multi-sport facility with high-quality equipment, hosting several national teams for altitude training each year. The Aquagranda centre has already been chosen for sports gatherings and workouts of several teams. Therefore, it will be confirmed as one of the largest sports facilities and a landmark for all athletes.
Another construction project that has been privately financed and realized in the run-up to the 2026 Winter Olympics is the new Mottolino Fun Mountain headquarters. It’s a one-of-a-kind facility in Italy, a significant investment that allows Livigno to focus even more on the Olympics dream.
