Alpenfest
The farmers are those who quietly and discreetly work hard throughout the summer. Alpenfest is the day in which the ancient rite of Alpine transhumance is relived, in which the cattle, after spending the summer in the alpine pastures, return to the village for the winter. This edition of Alpenfest will be special, a real celebration: after the traditional parade, lunch will be prepared by the Livigno Cooks and Pastry Chefs Association, who will prepare tasty recipes inspired by the book "Leina da Saor". Following this, performances by local groups, representations of ancient crafts and ballroom dancing will enliven the day.
Programme
PROGRAM
At 10:00 AM:
The parade, led by the Livigno Music Band, departs from the Don Bosco Oratory (Via Saroch) towards Zona Isola.
From 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM:
The parade featuring the Folkloric Group and Traditional Costumes of Livigno departs from the Church of Santa Maria towards Zona Isola, where they will be welcomed by the San Crispino Musicians for an exciting parade finale.
From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM:
Traditions on display: Livigno's farming companies will parade in the ring under the watchful eyes of the judges. This will be followed by a greeting to the shepherd and official speeches.
From 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM:

Taste and Tradition: A gourmet lunch prepared by the Livigno Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs, with a menu inspired by the book "Lèina da Saór". Starter, main course, and dessert for €35 for adults and €15 for children (up to and including 12 years old).
From 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM:
Performance by the Livigno Music Band and Monteneve Choir of Livigno.
From 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM:
Challenges of traditional farming tasks by the Livigno farming companies, followed by the award ceremony and presentation of the Alpenfest 2024 Trophy.
From 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM:
Join us for communal singing, accompanied by the sound of the accordion.
From 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM:
Afternoon of Famegl: An afternoon of themed games and activities for children born between 2012 and 2021. The young participants can enjoy workshops such as butter making, goat milking, wool processing, and hay crafting. The cost is €10, which includes a T-shirt, a handmade butter pat, and dinner for the child.
From 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM:
Alpen Party with Galletto Vallespluga and 1816 Beer.
From 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM:
Live Show: We conclude the day with the high-energy Simon & Mac live show, blending accordion and electric drums for a unique musical experience. And if you've ever danced to the tune of "Cotton Eye Joe", get ready because the Rednex, the legendary creators of this iconic hit, will be special guests at Alpenfest 2024, promising an unforgettable evening!
