A program of evenings dedicated to thought, music, and entertainment: featuring paolo ruffini, irene grandi, and a tribute to Franco Battiato

Livigno, 07/04/2026 - From July 20 to 22, 2026, Livigno hosts a new stop of La Milanesiana, the renowned cultural festival that for over twenty years has brought together different disciplines and forms of expression, featuring leading figures from the Italian and international cultural scene.

The twenty-seventh edition of La Milanesiana is dedicated to “Desire and Law”, a theme that explores the complex relationship between what we are called to do and what we wish to do. Law, both legal and moral, intertwines with individual desires: it contains them, guides them, and sometimes opposes them, yet at the same time helps bring them to light and shape them. In this balance between rule and impulse, between limitation and aspiration, the development of both individual identity and communities takes place, in a dialogue that is an integral part of contemporary society.

The event, conceived and directed by Elisabetta Sgarbi, arrives in the Alpine destination with a program of events spanning music, literature, art, and contemporary thought. It forms part of Livigno’s ongoing effort to position itself as a destination increasingly attentive to cultural offerings, alongside its well-established identity rooted in nature and sport. In this context, the resort confirms itself as an ideal setting to host the festival, offering an environment where landscape and cultural vision meet and engage in an authentic dialogue.

Bringing the evenings to life will be a program that weaves together different sensibilities and forms of expression. On July 20, Paolo Ruffini will present I'm perfect – What if our next president were Down?, a project that addresses the theme of diversity with depth and humanity.

On July 21, Irene Grandi will take center stage with Fiera di me, a journey through dialogue and music that alternates moments of conversation with Alessandro Gnocchi and a concert revisiting her most recent repertoire together with Leo di Dante, in an intense and personal artistic narrative.

July 22 will be dedicated to a major tribute to Franco Battiato, structured across several moments combining music, words, and images. The prologue, Regine dei Mondi – Queendoms for Franco Battiato, will feature Giada Colagrande alongside a musical ensemble including artists such as Antonio Forcione, Natalia Bacalov, and other performers.

The evening will continue with the cine-photographic contribution by Theo Volpatti, In the Footsteps of Beethoven, with music by Francesco Libetta and a piano tribute to Franco Battiato and the piece La Cura. It will conclude with the final concert L’Alba dentro l’imbrunire, performed by Giovanni Caccamo.

With stops in 18 Italian cities, the festival continues to represent an international cultural reference point and confirms Livigno as an increasingly significant stage in its journey.
