The Olympic Opening Ceremony, to be held at the Giuseppe-Meazza Stadium also known as San Siro, will enable 80,000 spectators to welcome their favourite athletes while Verona Arena, one of the largest, best preserved and most spectacular Roman amphitheaters in Italy, has been suggested for the closing ceremony. If the Arena should be confirmed, it will enable all the athletes to come together and be welcomed as heroes, just like those who walked into the amphitheatre centuries before them.
THE OLYMPICS IN LIVIGNO
A dream come true in one of the most extraordinary alpine resorts for young people, devoted to both winter and summer sports. A total 24 Olympic medals will be presented in Little Tibet, split into the following disciplines: aerials, moguls, half-pipe, slopestyle, big air, cross, giant slalom, snowboard cross, snowboard half-pipe, big air snowboard, snowboard slopestyle.
The venues proposed for competitions are those of Mottolino, Sitas-Tagliede and Carosello 3000. The first 2 can easily be accessed on foot from the town centre whilst the third will be connected by means of a special shuttle system. The Olympic village of Livigno, on the other hand, is going to be built near Aquagranda-Active You and host a total 1018 athletes who will be able to use all the services necessary to enjoy a memorable Olympic experience in this area. When the Games finish, two-thirds of the village will be dismantled and used for civil protection purposes, while the permanent section will be used as accommodation either for athletes in Livigno to train or for seasonal workers.
The years that separate us from the 2026 Olympics will be full and exciting, with a range of events accompanying both us all towards the biggest event in history.
