Piccolo Tibet starts the winter season 2022-2023 with snow sports, the real protagonist of the winter in Livigno

From Livigno comes the news that will make all 'winter lovers' happy: winter is just around the corner and the winter season is about to begin! From 3 December, winter sports lovers will be able to return to enjoy themselves on the snow: waiting for them are more than 115 kilometres of slopes at almost 3,000 metres above sea level, ski lifts all over the valley - accessible also from the village - and snowparks of international level.

From 28 October, Piccolo Tibet will give a first taste of the 2022-2023 winter season with the opening of the technical ring for cross-country skiing, a track made with snow preserved thanks to the snowfarming technique. The opening of the cross-country ring will allow all the sports teams and enthusiasts to train at altitude and have fun on real snow from as early as the end of October, while waiting for the 30km track planned for December.

But it is from 3 December that the winter season can officially begin! On this date, the ski lifts will open, allowing everyone to enjoy the 74 slopes, divided according to different levels of difficulty and therefore suitable for every type of preparation. There are many activities on the snow offered by Livigno and they are designed to meet the different needs: from those who want to plan a holiday dedicated to sport, to those who want to spend it with the family with children, to those who want to enjoy the panorama and live "slow" discovering the lifestyle side of the resort.

Sports addicts will not be disappointed: the recent snowfall and cold temperatures give hope for a high-performance 2022-2023 winter season. The many slopes in the Livigno mountains, in fact, provide the opportunity to test oneself and have fun practising various sports activities: first and foremost, of course, skiing and snowboarding, two winter evergreens. For adrenaline lovers, on the other hand, it will be possible to practice freeriding and heliskiing, two unforgettable experiences that allow you to descend on immaculate snowy areas while enjoying a privileged panorama of the valley. Ski mountaineering and snowshoeing are the perfect solution for those who wish to spend a day completely immersed in nature: the great variety of trails in Livigno allows for trips suited to one's ability. There are also Managed Trails, itineraries marked with poles by guides, designed for both amateurs and professionals in training. For lovers of biking in any season, the ideal is the fat bike, the innovation of the last decade with unique features. The 20 km cycle path - which runs all around the village - remains usable even in winter, both for bikers and runners or those who want to take a regenerating walk in the open air and in the midst of silent nature.

If, on the other hand, the holiday will be spent with the family, Livigno has many solutions for children and for spending time all together, including the various Family Hotels&Apartments in town that offer family-oriented services. At the nine ski schools - with more than 150 multi-lingual instructors specialised in various disciplines - it is possible to book private or group lessons, customised to the child's needs and abilities. There are also several funparks in the resort, such as the Kids Fun Park at Mottolino, but also the Kinder ClubLupigno, where the little ones can take their first steps on the snow and learn the first and valuable notions of winter sports. Livigno also offers various activities to spend time together: you can organise a visit to the MUS! Museum of Livigno and Trepalle, to discover the history and traditions of the resort and take a plunge into the past, but also to spend an afternoon in Aquagranda, the largest sports and wellness centre in Europe, where there are various areas, such as Slide&Fun - dedicated to the fun of young and old - or Wellness &Relax, where adults can enjoy some well-deserved relaxation while the children have fun thanks to the babysitting service.

Also inevitable in the recipe for the perfect winter season is the discovery of typical food and wine: there are many bars and restaurants along the streets of the centre that, thanks to local and international dishes, manage to satisfy all palates, from breakfast to after dinner.

Little Tibet also satisfies shopping addicts: with over 250 shops, exclusive boutiques and single-brand boutiques, the pedestrian centre is a real open-air mall. Here it is possible to enjoy a therapeutic shopping session, ranging from fashion, beauty sport and hi-tech, both for her and for him

During the winter, Little Tibet is animated with many events: every year, in fact, it hosts numerous races and competitions open to both amateurs and professionals, attracting athletes from all over Europe. In the 2022-2023 winter schedule, the first appointments to mark in your diary will be held on 3 and 4 December: on these days, professional athletes from all over the world will compete in the giant parallel snowboard and slalom test events in view of the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics Games: on this occasion, Livigno will host the Freestyle and Snowboard disciplines, confirming itself as one of the world's reference places for winter sports.

On 18 December, on the other hand, there will be La Sgambeda, the granfondo that has been animating the spectacular snowy tracks of Little Tibet for 32 years and that, every year, proves to be one of the most highly anticipated events for all cross-country skiers. The athletes will compete on a 35-kilometre course to be run in free technique, taking advantage of all the facilities of the Livigno Cross-Country Ski Centre. At the end of the competition, Plaza Placheda will be the meeting place to celebrate their performance with a 'pasta party'.
