It's adrenalin time in Little Tibet! From Friday the town will kick off the opening of the long-awaited stage of the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup, which for the first time will be held in Livigno: two days that will become part of the sporting history of the resort and during which Livigno will turn into a real stage where you can watch the competition live, as well as various events that will be the background to this unmissable sporting event.

The bond that unites Livigno and the discipline of cross-country skiing has a long history, which is told through the participation in the Ski Classic long-distance circuit, the organisation of several Italian Cups and the traditional Sgambeda. A true cross-country skiing paradise, which reaches its climax precisely with the awarding of the World Cup stage, which will see among its protagonists important names such as Federico Pellegrino, a great admirer of the Livigno track, and the Norwegian multiple Olympic champion Klæbo.

A weekend of great sport, entertainment and Alpine culture, during which it will be possible to cheer on the great champions from 18 different nations who will compete on Livigno's slopes. The numerous supporters, both Italian and foreign, who have come to Little Tibet to experience all the excitement of this spectacular sporting event, will not fail to feel the festive atmosphere that will characterise the streets of the town, making them feel the warmth of the athletes who will compete in the Livigno "two days". In addition, for the occasion, the streets of the centre will be closed to traffic to transform Livigno into an open-air theatre ready to host a true sports festival.

The athletes' parade, organised for Friday 20 January, will kick off this electrifying weekend: the athletes will start at 18.00 from the COOP in Via dala Gesa and will walk through the pedestrianised centre of Little Tibet to the Piazza del Comune, where they will be greeted by fans of the discipline. This will be followed by greetings from the institutions, the presentation of the best skiers on the international scene and Livigno's mascot.

To celebrate and have fun all together before the start of the races, the evening will then continue with the food&beverage proposals of the food trucks, where you can taste typical and international dishes, and with a free live concert open to all of one of the big names of the Italian song: Al Bano, the famous singer-songwriter winner of 26 gold and 8 platinum records, will be in Livigno and will perform some of his most famous songs, entertaining all the spectators present. Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated to the Cross-Country World Cup races, which will be held on the Livigno plain in the Vinecc area. Saturday will start with the individual races of the Women's Sprint and the Men's Sprint, and will close the two-day event with the Team Sprint races.

In addition, the Aquagranda Olympic preparation centre will host Casa Italia, an area reserved for CONI guests, who will be able to watch the race live just a few steps away from the media centre. And while the athletes will compete for the podium, near the competition field there will be an expo area, open between 10.30 a.m. and 3 p.m., where spectators will be able to enjoy the musical entertainment of the famous Radio 105 and take a 'food' break by choosing from the rich food and wine on offer.

But it doesn't end here! On Saturday evening, the party will continue in Piazza del Comune with the World Cup Party, which at 6.30 p.m. will host a free performance by Tananai, a singer-songwriter who became famous after his participation in the Sanremo festival. The concert will be followed by a deejay set and the possibility of tasting some delicacies offered by the food trucks that will remain open until 10 pm.
Instead, on Sunday, before qualifying there will be an exhibition by Dario Costa, Red Bull athlete and Italian aviator, who will entertain the public with his acrobatic flight displays.
