Over 40 exhibitor brands, guided rides, technical sessions, and special guests like Elia Viviani and Michela Moioli brought energy and excitement to Livigno’s three-day event dedicated to two wheels. And on Saturday, June 28, we get back in the saddle with the Granfondo Livigno Alé.

Livigno, 16/04/2025 –  The first edition of Above | The Bike Experience came to a close yesterday, an event brought to life by Movestro – the creative force behind IBF – Italian Bike Festival – in collaboration with Livigno Next.

The event was created to bring cycling back to the environments that best enhance its true spirit: technical trails, mountain roads, and high-altitude routes. Serving as the backdrop was Livigno, an iconic high-mountain sports destination, with 3,200 km of GPS-tracked routes. Chosen by international athletes for altitude training and by thousands of enthusiasts for the variety and quality of its outdoor infrastructure, Livigno perfectly embodied the essence of this experience.

From June 20 to 22, a large number of visitors brought energy to the Valtellina town, embracing the unique Alpine  Energy that defines it and taking part in a wide-ranging and well-structured program: test rides, technical clinics, guided tours, and meetups with athletes, brands, and industry professionals.

At the heart of the event was the Above Village, an accessible and lively exhibition area, featuring over 40 exhibitors who brought to Livigno a curated selection of products, previews, and technical solutions. Adding to the experience were engaging stories and entertainment moments hosted by the Scannellatori Seriali.

“We envisioned Above as a multi-layered experience, where the bike is not just a means of transport, but a language for discovering the territory,” said  Fabrizio Ravasio, Managing Director of Movestro Srl. “The interest shown by the public, the quality of the interactions, and the active participation in the activities confirm the strength of our format: not just a product showcase, but a real opportunity to get hands-on — or better yet, on the saddle — with the most innovative models on the market, in a supported and controlled environment. It’s no coincidence that the most meaningful part of this first edition was shaped by the experiences and the direct connection with the territory.”

“We’re very pleased with this first edition, which officially kicks off the 2025 season,” said Luca Moretti, President of Livigno Next. “The event holds enormous growth potential and, most importantly, is perfectly aligned with the DNA of our destination. Livigno has cycling in its soul, in every form, and Above could truly become the kickoff to our summers — now and in the future. In short: a great start, and plenty of ideas to make this event even more central to our tourism offering.”

The true heart of Above | The Bike Experience lay in the experiences themselves: on the bikes, along the trails, through the switchbacks, immersed in the landscape.
The guided experiences — whether part of the official schedule or organized by partners — represented the soul of the event: a rich, well-structured program designed for every level and discipline, from scenic gravel rides to technical downhill sessions, from road tours to mixed-terrain routes. Each outing was crafted to highlight the area's extraordinary natural setting and to offer participants a real opportunity for connection, exploration, and growth — all under the guidance of local experts.

Alongside them were well-known faces from the cycling world, such as Olympic track cycling champion Elia Viviani and Eva Lechner, as well as athletes who have embraced the bike as an alternative training method — like Olympic snowboard cross gold medalist Michela Moioli. Their presence turned every ride into a moment of genuine, direct connection between those who live cycling every day — whether as professionals or passionate enthusiasts.

In addition to the hands-on experiences and technical sessions, Above | The Bike Experience also offered moments of reflection.
Over the course of the three days, the spotlight stayed on cycling — even off the saddle — thanks to TriCiclo, Italy’s #1 podcast dedicated to the world of two wheels.

With special episodes featuring insights, interviews, and real-life cycling stories, TriCiclo provided a narrative soundtrack that enriched the off-bike experience, confirming that cycling culture reaches far beyond the pedals.

With Above | The Bike Experience, Livigno warmed up for the upcoming Granfondo Livigno Alé, scheduled for Saturday, June 28. Two routes — 106 km and 166 km — will take cycling enthusiasts through some of the most iconic climbs of the Rhaetian Alps, with a final ascent to Mottolino, retracing the legendary climb of the 2024 Giro d’Italia.
