Livigno is investing in infrastructures, and the work on the athletics track and football field is almost finished. We’ll also have a 50 metre olympic pool in the future. I hope Livigno will soon become an Olympic Training Centre at altitude and am incredibly happy as it is perceived increasingly more both in Italy and abroad as an "active" resort where sport can be experienced at 360 degrees. I’d like to welcome all the new team athletes. We’re their top fans and have placed all our facilities at their disposal to help them train in the very best way possible.”

Team Sport Livigno

Federica Pellegrini - Ambassador

Vittorio Brumotti - Ambassador

Dorothea Wierer

Lisa Vittozzi

Thomas Bormolini

Roberto Nani

Maurizio Bormolini

Jole Galli

Simon Talacci

Paolo Rodigari

Saverio Zini

Rudy Zini

Jessica Bormolini

Mattia Longa

Diego Caverzasi

Giulio Molinari

Gioele Bertolini

Rudy Biancotti

Andrea Bormolini

Thomas e Nicolas Bormolini

Ian Rocca

Sofia Goggia – trains in Livigno
)
23 champions from a range of sports, 2 special ambassadors and 2 great champions who all train in Livigno.

Team Sport Livigno is formed of champions from a range of disciplines who are true ambassadors for Livigno on the international sports panorama, and it has just become bigger!

Sport as a strategic key for tourism marketing and this is the path the Livigno tourist board has successfully taken for a number of years. Indeed, CEO of Livigno tourism Luca Moretti has even been invited to speak both at a convention on tourism marketing in Cervia and a Master in Sports Marketing Management organised by daily newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore in Milan.

Athletes from a range of sports disciplines who train in Livigno and take its brand around the world. Tourists who get the chance to meet the champions during their holidays. There are a range of sports in the team, not just winter ones, and athletics will soon be added to the list.

ALPINE SKIING

Two nationals, Roberto Nani and Jole Galli, have been confirmed for the queen of winter sports, namely alpine skiing, and Simon Talacci joins them this year. Born in 2001, this promising youngster in the giant slalom and slalom has achieved excellent results at a Junior level. This will be an important year for Roberto who aims to be included amongst the best skiers in the giant slalom; for Jole a year for consolidating her performance after last year's World Cup debut at Solden; and for Simon a quest to achieve the very best results possible in order to aim for the European Cup soon. All three will train on the snow in Livigno and next winter Olympic champion Sofia Goggia, who has shown interest in enjoying the benefits of training at altitude, will also be added.

BIATHLON

Lisa Vittozzi is the big news of the team. Together with Dorothea Wierer, she is a real jewel of the Italian National Biathlon team and now firmly placed at the top of the world ranking.

Lisa, Dorothea and Thomas Bormolini will wear the Livigno logo on their bands in international competitions, especially in countries such as Germany, Russia, Austria and northern Europe where the biathlon is an out and out religion. For Lisa, her official debut with the new logo will take place at the Marathon des Dolomites on Sunday when both she and Dorothea will have Livigno on their helmets. Saverio Zini has just been signed up to the A-squad of the national team, Paolo Rodigari to the B-squad with good results last season. Since December, the Livigno Biathlon Team has been using the new biathlon arena in Livigno and has enjoyed the opportunity to train on real snow since mid-October thanks to the snowfarming process.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Over the past couple of years Federico Pellegrino has never missed a 1K Shot, the event held at the end of August along the shopping road of Livigno with great cross-county skiing and biathlon champions, nor the inauguration of the cross-country track in mid-October. Chicco takes advantage of the opportunity to train on real snow as of October, when the various national teams normally train on the glaciers.

Twins Thomas and Nicolas Bormolini will also race next season under the sign of Livigno.

SNOWBOARDING

Maurizio Bormolini is ready and full of energy for next season. He’s aiming high and also trains in Livigno.

MTB

Gioele Bertolini and Mattia Longa, currently among the top athletes in Italy for the disciplines of MTB Cross Country and MTB Cross Country Marathon Series respectively, make the most of the opportunity to train in Livigno. Indeed, it is ideal for athletes wishing to train well to prepare for international competitions.

Jessica Bormolini graduated as a new champion of Italian Enduro in Santa Margherita Ligure, she’ll also take part in some of the World Cup competitions.

DIRT JUMP, RUGBY, TRIATHLON, TIMED HILL CLIMB, MOTTOLINO TEAM

Diego Caverzasi, Rudy Biancotti, Giulio Molinari and Andrea Bormolini are all new to the team, further extending the range of sports to which Livigno is linked.

Diego achieved excellent results with his mountain bike in the Dirt Jump at Crankworx in Rotorua and in Innsbruck (coming 3rd in both competitions).

Rudy, in Calvisano Rugby, was this year's vice champion of Italy. Giulio is doing incredibly well in the Ironman Triathlon (he will also do two camps in Livigno in order to teach the secrets of his sports preparation). Andrea is performing well in the timed hill climb. Ian Rocca, the new European Champion, has been confirmed in Team Livigno and will attempt to climb to one of the top places in the classification.

SPECIAL AMBASSADOR

Federica Pellegrini, the Divine, continues to train in Livigno to prepare for the most important international events (and also skied in Livigno in January for the first time in her life). Immediately after the Sette Colli Trophy, she’ll be part of a collegiate at Aquagranda to prepare for the European championships in Glasgow. Moreover, Vittorio Brumotti from Italian t.v. programme Striscia la Notizia, has been cycling around Italy for a few days on the Livigno-Agrigento route. This is a kind of Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) and a proposal for two-wheelers to discover some of the many beautiful areas of our country.

LUCA MORETTI, CEO OF LIVIGNO TOURISM:

“For the past few years, our strategy has been to use sport to promote Livigno. Indeed, we are investing both in our home champions owing to a sense of social responsibility and in top athletes who can promote Livigno in countries that are important to us from the point of view of tourism.
