Why going there

Camanel di Planon is the mountain lodge in Mottolino ski area’s earth; it can be reached by foot with chairlift Teola Pianoni Bassi. Inside there is a restaurant with an open kitchen, initially intended as a Pasta House, that offers a menu ranging from typical Valtellina cuisine - with ‘pizzoccheri’, bresaola and a selection of cheeses - to the best Italian first courses, to be tasted into charming wooden rooms. For the hurried, there is a ‘paninoteca’, with tasty sandwiches, a small self-service and a ‘galletteria’ where they serve roasted chicken. The restaurant’s style recalls an old fashion typical home from Livigno: from wooden ceiling beam to the stove heater, in a real alpine atmosphere. The refuge has also a covered panoramic terrace, an outside terrace where there is an with tables warmed by braziers perfect for enjoying a meal by the fire. On request, you can organize lunches and dinners for special events. Plus, every Thursday evening, the lodge opens for enchanting dinners at high altitude, available by reservation!
