This torch, designed by Ralph Lavers has a design and a shape like the torch of London and has a length of 47 cm and weighs 960 gr. The combustion system was slightly different from the previous. In this case pads of hexamine were used with the addition of naphthalene and a special flammable material. During these games, the equestrian events were played separately due to a strict quarantine regulations in force in Australia at this time. This edition of the games took place in fact in two different cities (Stockholm and Melbourne), in two different countries (Sweden and Australia), on two different continents (Europe and Oceania), in two different seasons (June and November).
