Fairytale setting for the mascots of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games: children's curiosities and a snow show light up the night in Little Tibet

Livigno, 20.02.2024 - As expected, beyond expectations: Livigno's Olympic Monday gave emotions and food for thought to the whole community, for a village that is warmly approaching the great Five Circles event, which is now less than two years away. An extremely limited time span, for all those involved, but considerably longer for all the primary and secondary school children of the territory: the first protagonists of the day, in Little Tibet.

In fact, it was their turn to welcome mascots Tina and Milo to Livigno, who were in turn accompanied on stage by the Educational team of the Organising Committee of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. A real bath of affection, not only for the two funny stoats, but also for Valentina Marchei, Head of the Ambassador Programme, former Italian skater and profound connoisseur of the Olympic universe, as well as splendid spokesperson and disseminator of the values of sport. "Transmitting to the new generations the importance of sporting activity in general, is a fundamental aspect in the process of approaching the Games," she commented, "because what is being built is not only the most important event of the quadrennium, but also a cultural legacy, of long duration, that can improve the quality of life, highlighting the disciplines that best represent a community and its history.

And it was precisely the disciplines 'from Livigno' that were the great protagonists of the second part of the programme, with the enthralling snowboard and freestyle show, made particularly scenic by the imposing structure built in the snowfarm area, and therefore clearly visible from every corner of the country. With Zoran Filicic at the microphone, and with the extraordinary participation of the Italian freestylers, including Flora Tabanelli, recent youth Olympic champion and part of the Livigno Team, the large audience was able to enjoy a real acrobatic show, which ended with a team contest, decided to the sound of evolutions. This format was highly appreciated by those present, who actively participated in voting for the teams captained by Tina and Milo. A DJ set and pizzoccherata completed the programme..

This is yet another demonstration of how much Livigno really feels like a protagonist in this process. Seeing young people from Livigno, some of them even very young, becoming an integral part of the show together with the great champions of the Italian national team, testifies to the deep bond that exists between the disciplines we will host in 2026 and the fabric of the city, and the entire community. A long-standing relationship, and the right way to build not only an unforgettable Games, but also a cultural legacy for the next generations,' these are the words of Luca Moretti, President of APT Livigno.
